OSAGE BEACH, MISSOURI (January 18, 2025) – The Missouri Cattlemen's Association Policy and Legislative Affairs Committee decided to create an award for a leader who stepped up for agriculture. Senator John Rizzo (R-11) was presentated with the inaugural Legislator Legacy Award at the 57th Annual Missouri Cattle Industry Convention on Jan. 18, 2025, at Osage Beach.
Sen. Rizzo stepped up for farmers and ranchers when he really didn't have to. Being from Kansas City, he doesn't have many cattle producers in his district; however, he made a career working together with everyone and truly led by example.
"Sen. Rizzo is a stateman and honest," said Jimmie Long, MCA Policy and Legislative Affairs Committee Chair Jimmie Long. "He has worked very hard for MCA largely behind the scenes and has earned the first ever legacy award."
