It is the purpose of the Missouri Cattlemen's Association to provide representation on behalf of our members specific to the beef industry and the effects legislative and regulatory actions have on the profitability and viability of their businesses.

Much of MCA’s focus is in the area of government affairs.  It is our strong belief that producers, as citizens, should be tireless in their protection of their rights and their businesses.  If you want to see what’s happening for yourself, you can watch the actions of the Missouri General Assembly, or find your elected officials by linking yourself to either the Missouri House or Senate and then searching the database.

Current Issues

  • We support Federally Inspected Horse Slaughter and are in opposition to H.R. 6598 which convicts farmers and ranchers for knowingly transporting horses for slaughter.

  • We oppose removing beef from the School Lunch Program regarding BILL NUMBER.

  • We support the Right to Farm.

  • We are opposed to Air and Water Regulations that place an unjust burden on animal agriculture. Federally, the Clean Water Act wanted to remove navigable from water ways of the US. The Clean Water Act is currently on hold.

  • We support permanent repeal of the Death Tax.

  • We support the elimination of Personal Property Tax on Livestock.

Cattlemen at the Capitol

Each Wednesday throughout the legislative session Missouri Cattlemen's Association hosts Cattlemen at the Capital. Several affiliate counties take a day to go to the capitol and speak with legislators about what is important to their businesses and livelihoods. Cattlemen's at the Capitol is a great way to get your voice heard in the legislature as you are the one speaking.
